Slow Cooker Bolognese Sauce

Ingredients

1 3/4 lbs Tomato Puree (diced tomatoes will work too )

6 ozs Tomato Paste (organic)

1/2 cup Organic Chicken Broth

1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

2 tsps Italian Seasoning

1 tsp Sea Salt

1/2 tsp Black Pepper

1/4 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (Optional)

3 Garlic Cloves (minced)

2 Carrots (shredded and diced)

1 Yellow Onion (small, diced )

1 lb Ground Turkey (Ground beef would work too)

Directions

  1. To Cook: Add all ingredients (plus the 1/2 cup broth) into a slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Make sure to break apart the turkey.

  2. To Freeze : All all of the ingredients (minus the broth), into a gallon freezer bag. Label your bag, remove as much of the air as possible, seal, and you can freeze this up to 3 months.

  3. To Serve: You have a lot of options. Serve over zucchini noodles, spaghetti squash noodles, over greens, or over scrambled eggs (my favorite:).
